Things to do in Tocumwal

For a small town on the Murray River, there is plenty to see and do in Tocumwal. Tocumwal Golf Club is our most popular attraction; however, there is still fun to be had in Tocumwal for non-golfers. We are immensely proud of our small town and love to tell our guests all about the interesting experiences that await them. It was VERY hard to narrow it down to three for this blog post!

Tocumwal Blowhole & the Rocks

We’ve selected this attraction as it is so unusual. Most people associate blowholes with coastal areas and are surprised to hear we have our very own here in Tocumwal. This small outcrop of rocks flows and bubbles when the Murray River is low and during times of drought. The local indigenous population believe the blowhole is connected by an underground stream to a deep hole in the river near the Tocumwal Bridge. Another traditional story features a giant Murray Cod who lived at the bottom. The Tocumwal Blowhole is definitely worth a look and we can advise you when is a good time to go.

Chrystie’s Museum

Chrystie’s Museum is an impressive collection of the past. Featuring pristine antique cars, caravans, tractors signs, tools, coins, furniture and pretty much anything else you can think of, Chrystie’s is well worth a visit. Children are often the most impressed by Chrystie’s as they try and imagine a world where the items were used. Entry is only $5 for adults, kids are free and it’s a short 4.5km from the centre of town. Perhaps the best thing about Chrystie’s is the warmth of the owners who welcome their visitors with open arms.

Old Woperana Working Farm & Animal Nursery

If you love animals, stunning scenery and old-fashioned Australian charm, then you’ll love Woperana Working Farm. There is so much to do here including meeting the animals (camels, donkeys, alpacas, clydesdale, ostriches & poultry), feeding baby animals, and enjoying light refreshments in the cafe. You get a real feel for farm life from the friendly crew running the farm tours which are both educational and entertaining. Numbers are limited so bookings are essential. A fantastic family day out.
